AFL's Inside the Numbers: Week 13

June 30,2017
Hippeard Looks to Move Past Pawlawski on All-Time TD List

Hippeard's Hopping – As Randy Hippeard continues to work on an MVP-caliber 2017 season for the Tampa Bay Storm, he's also moving up the all-time list in both passing yards and passing touchdowns in his career. He has a realistic chance to hop both Ben Bennett and Joe Germaine on the all-time passing yards list, while he should have no problem easing into the top 25 all-time in passing touchdowns as well.

Most Career Passing Touchdowns in AFL History
24: Erik Meyer: 312
25: Mike Pawlawski: 303
26: Randy Hippeard: 300
27: Joe Germaine: 290

Most Career Passing Yards in AFL History
25: John Fitzgerald: 14,997
26: Joe Germaine: 14,416
T-27: Randy Hippeard: 14,168
T-27: Ben Bennett: 14,168

Toliver Tries to Become First to Reach 16,000 Yards – T.T. Toliver hasn't played a game for the Washington Valor since Week 7, but he was activated off of injured reserve in time for this Week 13 matchup and is poised to play in his 197th AFL game. Toliver is sitting on 15,950 receiving yards in his career, 816 more than anyone else in the history of the game. Toliver needs 50 yards to become the first receiver in AFL history to hit 16,000 yards. Just one player in CFL history, Geroy Simon (16,352) and one in NFL history, Jerry Rice (22,985) have ever scaled the mountain of 16,000 yards for a career, and Toliver can become the third man in major professional football history to get there in Week 13.

Belton Hopes to Bag Pick No. 50 – Tracy Belton has been stuck on 49 career interceptions for seven consecutive games. He's only had one streak in his career longer than this without a pick and is most certainly due for another theft. He'll have a shot against Tampa Bay in Week 13 to snare that 50th INT, and if he does so, he'll become the seventh in AFL history to join the 50-INT Club.

Driving the Carr – Being 6-foot-6 can help any receiver in any form of football. For Greg Carr, it's all about being able to box out his foe near the end zone. He has 294 career receptions coming into this game, 87 of which have gone for touchdowns. With six catches against the Storm, he can become one of 11 active players to get to 300 career receptions.
