Toliver adds to his illustrious career, Jackson forces four turnovers
LAS VEGAS – The Arena Football League has announced that Washington Valor wide receiver TT Toliver and Tampa Bay Storm linebacker/defensive back Alvin-Ray Jackson have been named the offensive and defensive players of the week for Week 16, respectively.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Toliver (6’0”, 185, Bethune Cookman) hauled in six passes for 113 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-30 Washington Valor victory over the Baltimore Brigade last weekend. Toliver caught the game-winning touchdown pass with :04 seconds remaining in the game. It was the eighth game-winning catch of his illustrious career.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jackson (6’1”, 200, Albany State) made 3.5 tackles, recovered two fumbles and intercepted two passes in the 57-27 Tampa Bay Storm win over the Cleveland Gladiators last Saturday. All of Jackson’s forced turnovers resulted in Storm points including a 19-yard interception return for touchdown.
