Week 9 AFL Matchups: Brigade Visit Storm For the First Time; Gladiators and Valor Look to Get Back on Track With a Win in Week 9

June 2,2017
Baltimore at Tampa Bay in a rematch of a Week 5 thriller, Valor looks to earn victory over Gladiators

LAS VEGAS – The Baltimore Brigade (2-4) will make their first-trip to the Tampa Bay Storm (5-1) on  Saturday, June 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET at AMALIE Arena live on CBS Sports Network. The Brigade look to stay hot after their thrilling victory last week and will look to do so against one of the hottest teams in the Arena Football League in Tampa Bay. Coming off a bye, the Storm have won their last four games. Three of the four victories have come with five seconds or less. Reigning AFL Offensive Player of the Week, Baltimore quarterback Shane Carden, is coming off another six-touchdown performance. In his last five games, he has thrown for at least five touchdowns. Storm quarterback Randy Hippeard has been nearly flawless in Tampa Bay’s last four victories throwing for 27 touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Washington Valor (1-5) will play host to the Cleveland Gladiators (1-6) on  Saturday, June 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Verizon Center streaming live on Twitter and ArenaFootball.com. After notching early season wins, both the Gladiators and Valor are looking to turn the tide on their 2017 seasons’. Last week, the Gladiators traded WR Brandon Thompkins and QB Shane Boyd to Baltimore for future considerations. The Valor have been dealt with an injury bug of their own as QB Erik Meyer went down giving way to Sean Brackett. Last week Brackett came within an extra point of taking the defending ArenaBowl champion Philadelphia Soul into overtime.  The Gladiators suffered many injuries to begin the 2017 campaign and one bright spot has been the play of quarterback Arvell Nelson. Nelson leads the league’s number one ranked offense into Washington.
