Mykel Benson Becomes 5th to Rush for 100 Touchdowns

Benson Joins Ross, Wagner, Bowden, Armstrong with 100 TDs
LAS VEGAS (June 17, 2017) – Mykel Benson has had a few stops in his Arena Football League career. The Philadelphia Soul mark the sixth team in his six-year AFL career. But no matter where he has gone, Benson has been a tremendous producer on the ground. With his second touchdown of the game in Week 11 of the season, Benson became the fifth man in AFL history to reach 100 career rushing touchdowns. With his third score, Benson tied Odie Armstrong for fourth place on the all-time rushing touchdown list.

Benson has rushed for at least eight touchdowns in all six years of his career, including posting 15 this season for the Soul. He tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns in 2016 while playing with the Arizona Rattlers and figures to finish in the top five in rushing touchdowns for the fourth straight season.

Andre Bowden is next on the all-time touchdowns list. Bowden had 103 rushing touchdowns in his Hall of Fame career.

In the game, Benson also had 22 rushing yards, moving him into fifth place all-time in career rushing yards.
