Philadelphia looks to stay unbeaten against Cleveland, Storm looking to extend win streak against Valor
LAS VEGAS – The Tampa Bay Storm (6-1) look to extend their win streak to six when they host the Washington Valor on Saturday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET at AMALIE Arena on CBS Sports Network. Valor head coach Dean Cokinos heads to Tampa Bay looking to flip the Valor season around and halt a streaking Ron James led Storm team that is looking to extend the teams’ longest win streak since 2010. Washington quarterback Sean Brackett has started the last two games for the Valor. After taking over for injured quarterback Erik Meyer, he was a point away from defeating the defending ArenaBowl champions two weeks ago and got off to a rocky start against the Gladiators last week. Storm quarterback Randy Hippeard is off to a fantastic start this season, he leads the league in total offense, offensive touchdowns, passing yards per game and completion percentage. Last week he had his streak of 201 consecutive passes without an interception snapped.
The undefeated Philadelphia Soul (7-0) host the Cleveland Gladiators (2-6) on Saturday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Wells Fargo Center streaming on Twitter and AFLNow. The Gladiators are looking to start a winning streak of their own after a convincing 59-35 victory over the Washington Valor a week ago. Reigning AFL Offensive Player of the Week, Arvell Nelson, is looking to lead the charge after coming off a five-touchdown performance. In two games against the Soul this season, Nelson has thrown for 12 touchdowns but four interceptions. The Soul will look to extend their overall win streak to 15 games dating back to last season. The Soul will rely on the hot arm of Dan Raudabaugh, who tied for the league lead with 44 touchdowns passes this season and only four interceptions.
