Brigade host Valor for the first-time ever, Soul try to stay undefeated when they face the Gladiators
LAS VEGAS – The Washington Valor (1-7) travel to take on the Baltimore Brigade (2-6) tonight, Friday, June 23 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Royal Farms Arena streaming on AFLNow. In their first meeting on Week 1, the Valor were able to jump out to a huge first half lead en route to a 51-38 victory. Since then, the two teams have seen their fair share of injuries in vying for playoff positioning. Valor quarterback Sean Brackett has yet to lead his team to a win, but in two of three games started, has brought Washington to within one-point of victory. Rookie quarterback Shane Carden has had some of the same injury problems, as the Baltimore receiving corps has taken on a different look in every game played in 2017. The Brigade welcome back Reggie Grey who caught 12 passes for 139 yards and a TD in Week 1 versus Washington.
The undefeated Philadelphia Soul (9-0) visit the Cleveland Gladiators (3-7) tomorrow, Saturday, June 24 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Quicken Loans Arena LIVE on CBS Sports Network. The Soul have won the previous three meetings in 2017, but the high-powered Gladiators offense leads the league in Total Offense and is second in Offensive Points per game. Coming off their huge victory over the Tampa Bay Storm last week, the Soul are looking to extend their win streak to 17 games, including the 2016 regular season and playoffs, which would give the team the second most consecutive wins (including playoffs) in AFL history. Coming off a victory over the Brigade in Week 11, the Gladiators are looking to go streaking for the first time this season as they make their playoff push. The Soul are forcing two turnovers in their last 23 consecutive games. Gladiators quarterback Arvell Nelson, has the longest current consecutive completions streak without an interception at 73.
