REGINA -- Macho Harris had not one, not two, but three interceptions on Sunday afternoon, guiding the hometown Roughriders to a 33-21 win over the visiting Montreal Alouettes to close out Week 14 CFL action.
Harris returned his third interception for a touchdown, giving the Riders all the momentum they would need to close out their second win of the season.

Rob Bagg had a solid afternoon as well, hauling in three passes for 63 yards and a touchdown in his 100th career CFL game. Tailback Jerome Messam also had himself a game, rushing for 111 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. He now leads the CFL in rushing yards.
Despite the loss, the Alouettes still hold onto a crossover playoff spot, as they still lead Winnipeg and BC by two points.
After throwing for 181 yards and two touchdowns along with two interceptions in last week’s win over the Blue Bombers, Alouettes QB Jonathan Crompton hoped to kick things off on the right foot at a hostile Mosaic Stadium.
However, his afternoon didn’t get off exactly according to plan, as he saw his pass intended for receiver Sam Giguere intercepted by Harris.
The turnover proved to be a costly one, as Glenn and the Riders quickly went to work. The veteran pivot hooked up with Bagg for a 38-yard score to give the home side a 6-0 lead. Paul McCallum would miss the ensuing extra point.
The TD was Bagg’s sixth of the season, good enough to eclipse his career-high mark of five set in 2009.
Montreal kicker Boris Bede would miss a 52-yard field goal attempt on the Als’ next drive for a single point.
McCallum, meanwhile, would redeem himself shortly after, however, as he split the uprights from 24 yards out to extend the Riders’ lead to eight.
The field goal was made possible thanks to a great grab by Naaman Roosevelt.
McCallum would add another field goal prior to the end of the first quarter, this time from 23 yards out.
Both teams saw their offence’s stall in the second quarter, as they each failed to register a single point.
The two teams entered the locker room with the Riders holding on to a 12-1 lead.
Montreal’s offensive woes only worsened with less than a minute to go in the first half, as Crompton threw a second interception to Harris.
This time, however, the consequences of the turnover weren’t incredibly costly, as the Riders only managed to tack on an additional three points courtesy of a 14-yard field goal by McCallum.
Harris Picks, Bagg Prospers

Saskatchewan DB Macho Harris' opening drive interception sets the stage for QB Kevin Glenn to strike fast with a first-play touchdown to Rob Bagg and an early Roughrider lead.

The first half ended with the Riders leading 15-1.
Crompton ended the half with eight completions on 19 attempts for 97 yards and two interceptions Glenn, on the other hand, completed six of his 18 attempts for 125 yards and one TD strike.
Prior to the start of the second half, Alouettes head coach Jim Popp told TSN sideline reporter Lee Jones that Rakeem Cato would start the second half under centre.
Making his first appearance since Week 10, Cato's first drive was uneventful, as his lone pass attempt was incomplete, and the Als were forced to punt once again.
Cato didn't fare much better on his second possession, as he saw his pass intercepted by Harris, who returned his third pick of the afternoon 50 yards to the house for a touchdown. The interception tied a Roughriders record for interceptions in a game.
The third quarter came to a close with the Riders leading 23-5, with Montreal's lone points coming by-way of a Bede field goal.
With 6:42 remaining in the fourth quarter, Messam put an exclamation mark on the Riders' victory, as he plunged in from three yards out to extend Saskatchewan's lead to 25. With the score, the Riders became the first team this season to score 30 points against the Alouettes.
The Alouettes would eventually reach the endzone, as short-yardage pivot Tanner Marsh scored on a one-yard sneak up the middle. The score was Marsh's third on the ground this season. Cato would convert the ensuing two-point attempt to make the score 30-13 in favour of the Riders.
The score was made possible by a bizarre play that saw Cato's pass intercepted by John Chick, who was then stripped of possession by Cato who ran for a big gain.
Cato ended the afternoon with 170 yards, along with one touchdown and two interceptions on seven completions.
But it was too little, too late, as the Riders pounded the ball on the ground for the remainder of the quarter, with Messam and Anthony Allen leading the charge.
McCallum tacked on his fourth field goal of the game to close things out, while Fred Stamps hauled in a touchdown with no time on the clock to make the final score 33-21.
Next week, the Alouettes will travel to Ottawa Thursday night, while the Riders will travel west to take on the Lions at BC Place Stadium.
