A disruptive force all season long, the sixth-year veteran Smith finishes the year with 9.0 sacks
LAS VEGAS – The Arena Football League has announced that Baltimore Brigade lineman Khreem Smith has been named 2017 AFL Defensive Lineman of the Year. Smith becomes the first-ever honoree to win this award on the first-year of an expansion team.
Smith (6’4”, 265, Oklahoma State) appeared in 13 games for the Brigade in 2017 and corralled 20 tackles (18/4) during the regular season. A disruptive force against opposing teams, Smith finished 3 rd in the league with 9.0 sacks, 9.0 tackles for loss and tied for 7 th with two forced fumbles on the year.
