The game completes the Lions' sweep over the Riders, winning each of their three meetings this season.
The opening drive by the Riders looked promising as Kevin Glenn found Rob Bagg for a 16-yard gain on his first pass of the game. The momentum was short lived as Glenn fumbled the ball a few plays later that was recovered by BC.
Jennings and the Lions’ offence were impressive on their first drive and would be the first to strike on the scoreboard. The rookie quarterback connected with Arceneaux for 30 yards and then avoided the Riders' defensive rush to find Shawn Gore in the end zone to put BC up 7-0.
The BC defence continued to pounce on the Riders as the first quarter continued as Ryan Phillips intercepted a pass intended for Weston Dressler and rushed it back 19 yards. The interception lead to a 50-yard field goal attempt, but the kick went wide and out of the end zone as the Lions settled for a single.
On BC’s next drive, Jennings continued his impressive first quarter performance by finding a wide-open Lavelle Hawkins alone in the middle of the field for a long 51-yard pass just short of the red zone. The Saskatchewan defense held strong, forbidding the Lions to find the end zone and forcing Leone to cap off the drive with a short 13-yard field goal to extend the lead to 11-0.
Saskatchewan’s third two-and-out of the game put the ball back in the hands of the Lions at the beginning of the second quarter. Jennings found Bryan Burnham alone at the Saskatchewan 10-yard line, but the Riders defence was once again resilient and the Lions settled for another field goal.
The Riders were finally able to find the scoreboard when the Lions were caught deep in their own zone and opted for a safety to cut the lead to 14-2.
On the kick return, Tristan Jackson bolted down the field to pick up 48 yards and place the Riders in BC territory. Glenn then found Ryan Smith for a 21-yard gain, just short of the red zone, but the Riders were unable to capitalize and Paul McCallum notched a 28-yard field goal to cut the lead to 14-5.
The Orange and Black received the ball back with just over a minute left in the quarter and made fast work of getting down the field. Jennings connected with Chris Rainey for 33 yards, leading to a touchdown by Burnham. Leone missed the extra point to end the half at 20-5.
Although both teams are known for their strong rushing offence, it was Lion’s passing game that was the story of the first half as Jennings had two touchdowns and 266 passing yards through two quarters. Hawkins was also impressive with four catches and 82 yards after 30 minutes.
Jennings picked up the third quarter right where he left off at half, tossing a long ball down the length of the field to Arceneaux on the first pass of the quarter for an 82-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 26-5.
The Lions decided to turn to their rushing game, handing the ball off to Harris three times on a mid third quarter drive. Harris picked up a 17 yard run, leading Jennings to find Arceneaux for the second time of the game for a short touchdown pass.
Mic'hael Brooks added to his two sacks on the night by picking up an interception to further dash any hopes of a Saskatchewan comeback.

The Lions decided to give Jennings a break from passing to show off his catching skills on the ensuing drive. Austin Collie took over quarterback duties on a trick play and threw a 21-yard pass to Jennings in the endzone to add to an already commanding lead over the Riders.
Saskatchewan fought to the finish, blocking a punt deep in Lions’ territory that was was picked up by Keenan MacDougall and rushed back for a touchdown. The Riders also added a single on a missed field goal to trail 40- 12.
Leone added a 42-yard field goal on the next drive to hold a 43-12 lead with 6:05 remaining in the final quarter.
The relentless Riders continued to fight back as Brett Smith replaced Glenn early in the fourth quarter. Smith threw an impressive 42-yard pass to Naaman Roosevelt for the offense's first touchdown of the game, but that was as close as the Riders would get.
Leone notched his fourth field goal of the night with just over a minute remaining to end the game at 46-20.
The Riders schedule does not get any easier as they travel to Tim Hortons Field on Oct. 9 to face the East leading Hamilton Tiger-Cats while the Lions will receive a visit from their West opponents, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, on Oct. 10.
