Philadelphia - The Tampa Bay Storm (0-5, 0-2) were defeated by the Philadelphia Soul (5-1, 1-1) by a score of 47-17 on Monday night in front of 8,172 fans at Wells Fargo Center.
The Storm offense was led by quarterback Jonathan Bane. He completed 13-of-34 passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite target of the night was Mike Washington who caught six passes for 33 yards. Receiver Phillip Barnett also caught a pair of touchdowns.
Storm defensive back and local Plant H.S. product James Harrell corralled his first interception of the season. He now has 14 career interceptions. The team defense held the Soul to 47 total points, 13.6 points off the team’s season average.
The Soul was led by quarterback Dan Raudabaugh. Raudabaugh completed 24-of-37 passes for 186 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. His top target of the night was Ryan McDaniel, who caught 10 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. The Soul defense put points on the board with interceptions returned for touchdowns, one by Dwayne Hollis in the second quarter and one by James Romain in the fourth quarter.
The Storm will head to Orlando to take on the Predators (6-0, 2-0) Friday, May 13 at Amway Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
